Crisis Hits Peter Obi’s Labour Party As South West collapses structure into APC

The presidential ambition of the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi, suffered a major blow on Monday as the the leadership of the party in the South West reportedly collapsed its entire structure into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obi is one of the candidates expected to slug it out with the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu and Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar in the February 25 poll.

The South West LP chairman, Banji Omotoso, led other leaders from the zone to collapse the party’s structure at a ceremony in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Other leaders of party that defected were Omowumi Olusola; LP Secretary in Ondo State, Ademola Akindilemu; Sola Alabi amongst others.
