Makinde Is A Sefless Leader, He’s The Awolowo Of This Time – Daud Akinola, Su Kazeem Rachael Aina The Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde has been described as a selfless leader of Oyo State who is positively impacting the life of ordinary citizen of the state. The Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta Alhaji Daud Akinola stated this while speaking with journalists at his Ikolaba, Ibadan residence. Alhaji Akinola explained that the state governor has been running the affairs of the state with the fear of God and in the best interest of the majority of the people of the state that elected not minding the several misdeeds of the previous administrations. “Governor Makinde since coming to office as Oyo state governor has been using his personal car even as elected governor which to me is highly commendable. Besides that, he has cancelled all forms of payment at public schools in the state and that makes education to be at the reach of the less privileged and make education less expensive. ” “Some of today’s political office holders enjoyed Chief Obafemi Awolowo free education programme to be what they are today and they never think of doing same for others, this is too bad.” Also, an Ibadan based businessman Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem commended the state governor for being a good representative of his parent through his good attitudes in government. He stated what the governor has done in one year cannot just be swept under the carpet especially for ordinary citizen of Oyo State since the last twelve months. The businessman calls on the governor to continue to toe the line of honour in all his doing as only this can make him to bear the true and positive identity of his lineage.
Man impersonates Commisioner of Police, dupes rich NigeriansA 35-year old man identified as Monday Clement Shola has been arrested by men of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly impersonating Edo State Commissioner of Police, Jimeta Lawan, to dupe rich individuals in the state. Shola claimed he was a former Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Government during the administration of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole. He said he used one of his lines to call ‘a person’ and introduced himself as Edo Commissioner of Police. Shola said he asked the ‘person’ to give attention to one Clement (himself) adding that the intention was for the ‘person’ to call him. His words, “Eventually the person called and invited me to his office. I explained to the person how I was arrested and stuff like that. I met with the person one on one. He asked me to drop my account number and I will hear from him. “Four days later. the account was credited with N2.5m. 40 minutes later I saw another alert of N10m making it N12.5m. I didn’t know the money was meant for two seperate account but mistakenly paid all into my account. He called me to asked if I had seen the money. He also called the other line I used to first call him. “Two days later I went to the bank and was told the account was blocked. They told me money was mistakenly credited to the account. I had to return the N10m.” When pressed on who sent him the money, he said it was Adams Oshiomhole. He claimed he bought a Toyota Camry with the N2.5m. Edo Police Commissioner, Jimeta Lawan, said the suspect was arrested because he goes about swindling unsuspecting members of d public using the name of the CP. He said Shola has duped so many people that by sending text messages to unsuspecting individuals and extorting money from them.
