This was at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration in Osogbo with the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership.” In his keynote, Engr. Agoro explained that youth empowerment must be seen as a strategic investment in Osun’s future. He called for the establishment of technology and innovation hubs, a Youth Development Fund, and stronger youth–industry partnerships. Engr. Agoro expressed deep gratitude for the honor and pledged to further champion youth causes in the state: “This investiture is not just a personal recognition; it is a call to greater service. I dedicate this honor to the vibrant young people of Osun State, whose resilience and creativity continue to inspire us all. “As Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, I will work closely with government, industry, and development partners to open more doors of opportunity for our youth. Together, we will ensure that the dreams of Osun youth translate into tangible achievements that uplift our state and our nation.” In his goodwill message, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, Commissioner for Youth Affairs, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth-focused policies, praising their resilience and innovation. Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha, urged young people to blend innovation with discipline, while upholding cultural values as the bedrock of sustainable progress. Captains of industry at the event pledged stronger support for youth-led ventures through mentorship, funding, and partnerships. The celebration concluded with optimism and renewed commitment, as stakeholders affirmed that Osun youth are not just beneficiaries of development but active leaders and partners in building a prosperous future for the state and Nigeria at large. The high-profile event was graced by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí (Arowotawaya II), the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha Kingdom, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Osun State, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, other distinguished royal fathers, top government officials, and captains of industry.

Prominent Oyo APC Leaders Storm Oja’ba Central Mosque As Chief Imam of Ibadanland Installs Gbolagade As Aare Akogun Musulumi of Ibadanland

It was a gathering of who’s who as the Chief Imam of Ibadanland Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere and his Council installed Mogaji Olubadan, Lato’s compound, Labo, Ibadan, Mogaji (Prof) Abiodun Gbolagade, as Aare Akogun Musulumi Ibadanland.

Some of the leaders present at the well attended event were the number one leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ibadan, Allhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu, former Director, former Special Adviser to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Major MKO Olaoye, Oluyole APC chairman, Alhaji Waheed Akinleye ,Alhaji kamorudeen Awowo who is also a leader in Oluyole local government and Alhaji Morufu Lamolo, state officio of APC.

Professor Gbolagade, who’s the Provost, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ibadan Study Centre, was turbaned at a well attended ceremony held at Ibadan Central Mosque Multipurpose Hall, Oja’ba Ibadan.

In his charge, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere said the antecedents of the Ibadan Chief necesitated his choice for the high ranked post among Muslims in Ibadanland, urging him to hold the position in high esteem and work for the progress of the Muslim community.

Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), Fadilat Sheikh Hashim Atere, who hailed the choice of Professor Gbolagade as Aare Akogun Musulumi of Ibadanland, promised to support the new religious title holder to enhance his success in office.

In an interview with journalists shortly after he was turbaned as Aare Akogun Musulumi of Ibadanland, Professor Abiodun Gbolagade promised to renovate the Ibadan Central Mosque Multipurpose Hall to modern standard and install Solar lights to the hall and premises to make it befitting.

Professor Gbolagade, who noted that he had been passionate about supporting the work of Islam, pledging his total commitment to all activities of the Muslim community in Ibadanland.

Among the dignitaries who witnessed the ceremony were the Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), Fadilat Sheikh Hashim Atere, Islamic Scholar, Professor Kamil Olosho, popular Ibadan based juju musician, Alhaji Rasheed Ayinde Merenge, family and friends of the newly installed Aare Akogun Musulumi of Ibadanland
