OYCHST Celebrates 90th Anniversary, Thanks Governor Makinde On Staff Recruitment, Infrastructure Development

The Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has admonished graduands of the Oyo State College of Health, Science and Technology, Eleyele Ibadan to be good ambassadors of their school and the state.

Engr Makinde gave this admonition at the 90th founders day and 18th convocation ceremony of the college held at the college premises.

Governor Seyi Makinde called on the stakeholders in the college to keep on working assiduously towards taking the institution to a greater heights.

Governor Makinde who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for health, Dr Olabode Oladipo counselled the graduands on the need for them to be focused and determined to a good cause.

The state commissioner for education Barr Abdulrahaman Abdul Raheem who was represented at the event emphasised the pursuance of quality education in the state as a cardinal points through which the state can be developed.

Also, the chairman governing council of the college, Dr Aaron Ola Ogundiwin who spoke thru Dr Olusoji Adeyanju said the institution is contributing to the development of two of Gov Seyi Makinde four point agenda.

In her remark, the acting provost, Pharmacist Oluyemisi Oyewo appreciated the support of Governor Seyi Makinde in moving the college higher.

In his goodwill message, the country representative of World Health Organization, Dr Walter Mulombo said the organization is ready to partner with the college in areas of research and capacity building.

Commenting while supervising the cutting of the anniversary cake, the immediate past provost of the College, Sanitarian Siji Ganiyu, applauded the state government for the turnaround of the institution.

Some of the graduands expressed their gratitude’s to God and their school.

Members of the old students were also present in all the activities of the event.

On April 1st, 1933, the now Oyo state college of health science and technology was established as a training centre for sanitary inspectors offering 24 month course for native authority sanitary inspectors.
