Ojude Oba 2026: Billions of Naira Going Into Ogun State Economy Every Year – Hon Amusan

..my maternal side hails from Ijebuland

The Sobaloju of Egbaland and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant in Ogun state, Hon Kayode Jeleel Amusan, has described the Ojude Oba festival as one that has come to stay.

Hon Amusan stated this at the 2026 annual Ojude Oba festival held at Ojude Oba pavillion, Itaale, Ijebu Ode.

The one-time federal lawmaker explained that the festival has continued to improve the economy of the state as billions of naira are being sunk into the festival every year.

“To get a hotel to sleep in Ijebuland during Ojude Oba, you have to book four, five to six months, or else you won’t get a room to sleep.

“When some people get disappointed about where to sleep, they will prefer to buy land and start building so as to stay there during the next edition.”

Hon Amusan, who is also the Otunba Ogidi Ogidi Omo of Ilese Ijebu, called on other states and ethinic groups to emulate the festival.

“You can see the kind of impact economically it provided. All prices of things go higher. It improves the economy of Ijebuland. I want to appeal to Ijebuland sons and daughters to keep it up, I’m so proud of them.”

Hon Amusan added that even though he’s an Egba man but his maternal side was of Ijebuland, and he has always associated himself with the people of the area.
