Governorship Election: INEC Oyo Begins Distribution Of Sensitive Materials

The Independent National Electoral Commission , INEC Oyo state on Wednesday begins distribution of sensitive materials ahead of the Governorship and State Assemblies elections scheduled to hold on Saturday

The distribution was held under the watchful eyes of security agents, INEC , CBN and other stakeholders

The Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG zone eleven , Sikiru Akande accompanied by the the Oyo State Commissioner of police , Adebowale Williams arrived the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN premises with the Oyo state Resident Electoral Commissioner , Dr Adeniran Tella.

Addressing journalists, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo state, Dr Adeniran Tella said INEC has sorted all the sensitive materials and they are being distributed to INEC offices in all the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo state.

He said INEC was collaborating with security agencies whom he described as critical stakeholders in the electoral system.

The AIG zone eleven , Sikiru Akande said the police is solidly behind INEC to achieve its mandate with a view to ensuring a hitchfree election in the state

The INEC REC while addressing political party representatives enjoined them to cooperate with the commission to ensure a hitch-free and credible election in the state.
