Alao Mourns Victims of Ibadan Explosion
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao, has expressed heartfelt sadness over the explosion which occurred in the Bodija area of Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday night.
Alao in a statement by his Media Office, commiserated with the immediate families of those who lost their lives and other victims of the explosion, describing it as tragic and heart rendering.
He also sympathised with Governor Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, over the ugly incident and wished those affected peace, comfort and lots of love at this time of sorrow.
The Asiwaju of Irokoland, while urging relevant government agencies to collaborate in providing immediate relief to the victims and their families, called on the state government to undertake a thorough investigation of the incident to prevent a re-occurence in the future.
He then prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the explosion, praying that God will grant the families the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.
He said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of an explosion that occurred in Bodija, which claimed lives and with many injured.
“The death of a loved one is usually very painful but coming through such an incident made it more disheartening.
‘I sympathise with the immediate families of victims, those injured, Oba Lekan Balogun and Governor Makinde while wishing all of us peace, comfort, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.”
