After Sixteen Years In The National Assembly, Buhari May Support One Of His Associates To Succeed Him
The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial district, Fatai Buhari says he may likely throw his weight behind one of his associates to succeed him.
Buhari, who is currently serving his third term in the red chambers, stated this in a radio interview monitored by OYOINSIGHT.COM on Wednesday.
“This is my third time as a Senator and my fourth time in the National Assembly. I am a core legislator and I have done it to the extent that I am happy.
“I don’t know where the party will zone it yet but if they make it free for all, I want to be Oyo State Governor,” he said.
“If you have been as privileged as I have, quit when the ovation is loudest and let someone else go and do it.
“Even if the party zones the senatorial seat to Ogbomosho and Governorship to Okeogun, I wont run for the Senate again, I rather will anoint one of my associates to run for it. That is my plan. That is leadership,” he added.
