RAMADAN: Ondo Deputy Governor Breaks Fast With Muslims, Charges On The Need For Peace

Ondo State Acting Governor and Deputy Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa hosted Iftar with Muslim faithfuls in the State to break their fast and thank God for the month of Ramadan, charging them on the need to imbibe the spirit of giving and follow the peaceful nature of holy prophet Muhammad.
Aiyedatiwa spoke on Sunday evening during the annual “Iftar with Mr Governor”, held at International Culture and Event Center (The Dome), Alagbaka Akure.
He urged all, irrespective of beliefs to come together as one under God to ensure that we see the development we wish for in our dear State, by working together to achieve the objectives.
The Acting Governor specifically called on everyone to reflect and pray for both the State and nation for unity, peace, love, security and more blessings.
He said peace and unity are the only way to sustain the ongoing developments in the State.
Speaking further, Aiyedatiwa used the occasion to assure the Muslim community in Ikare Akoko that, government is eager that peace reign within Ikare Muslim community and the entire Ikare land, warning those formenting trouble to desist forthwith.
The Chief Imam, Khalid Fawehinmi Mosque, Government House, Alagbaka, Alhaji Yunus Anona who delivered the evening lecture, declared that, both Muslims and Christians has been relating peacefully together for long, as both are betrens serving same God .
He appreciated the fact that both Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON and his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa were similar in almost everything as he expressed delight with the spirit of unity within the two leaders.
Special prayers were held for Mr Governor for God to bless him with good health and happiness.
Other dignitaries at the Iftar annual event include, members of Ondo State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt Hon David Oleyelogun, Ondo State Chief Judge, Hon Justice Ayedun Odusola, President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Eunice Alade, Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff to Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale, members of the State Executive Council and other top government officials.
Muslim leaders at the event include, Ondo State Chairman of League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Ahmad Aladesawe, Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh Abdul-Hakeem Yayi Akorede, Chairman, Ondo State Muslim Board, Zikrullah Chandy among other Imams and Alfas.
