OYSCHST Governing Council Chairman, Ogundiwin Is Dead

Saturday November 25, 2023

The Chairman, Governing Council of Oyo State Health Science and Technology (OYSCHST), who also doubles as the Coordinator, Omituntun Initiative in the Diaspora (OID), Dr Aaron Ogundiwin is dead.

Ogundiwin who is an Associate Professor at Babcock University, died after a brief illness.

In a release signed by OID spokesperson, Barrister Ayotomiwa Adebayo, and made available to newsmen, the group extended its condolences to his wife, Mrs Ijeoma Ogundiwin, and the entire family over the great loss, just as it described the death of their state coordinator as a great irreplaceable loss.

“Dr Aaron’s conduct of selfless devotion to Oyo State and Nigeria was above and beyond the call of duty. He believed in modern society with equality and was a thoroughbred social crusader, who was committed to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision of good governance, citizen participation, and the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.

“Love by all, he was truly a remarkable man who was dedicated to his wife, family, and work and passionate about helping others achieve their full potential. He lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by putting the well-being of others above his own personal interests. He was exceptional, a respected political scientist, a renowned scholar, and a proud ambassador of Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

“Dr Aaron was an inspiration to many people who admired his strength, altruistic devotion, and achievements. He was a man of peace, honest, and faultlessly polite, and his act of kindness was extraordinary. As a devoted Christian, he had lived a life of relevance and purpose by fulfilling the great commandments of his love for God and showing love to his neighbours. He was a man who strived to improve a lot of others.

“There is no word to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Aaron Ogundiwin for his valuable contribution to building a strong, sustainable Oyo State and supporting the government’s Omituntun agenda that will continue to improve the quality of life for citizens. In one of his remarkable quotes ‘My support for Makinde is based on values, good leadership, and not for money.’ We will pass on the legacy by telling others stories about this great and trustworthy associate professor whom we once met. Thank you for your commitment, courage, and service to humanity.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, his children, and all his family, associates, and loved ones at this huge loss.

“Dr Aaron has left an indelible stamp on all who came across him, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May Almighty God grant him eternal rest,” Adebayo said.
