Makinde Commences Payment of 13th Month Salary To Oyo Workers

Friday December 30, 2022

Oyo State Government has commenced the payment of 13th Month salaries to staff members.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, staff members are expected to start getting alerts latest by Friday evening.

The Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration had on Wednesday promised to make the workers smile, by paying 13th month salaries before January 2023.

The Commissioner in the statement recalled how Governor Makinde’s administration, on resumption in May 2019, paid workers salaries despite the dwindling economy in the country.

He declared that the present administration, under Governor Seyi Makinde would never toy with welfare of civil servants.

It would be recalled that Oyo State Government is one of the few state governments that have continued to pay the minimum wage without failure.

“One of the successes of the Seyi Makinde-led government is the uninterrupted payment of staff salaries”, Olatubosun said.

“Recall that, Governor Seyi Makinde has stayed commited to uninterrupted payment of salaries and 13th month salaries since he became Governor”, he added.
