The Hijrah, also known as Hegira, was the journey or flight of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers took from Mecca to Medina. The year in which the Hijrah took place is also identified as the epoch of the Lunar Hijri and Solar Hijri calendars; its date equates to 16 July 622 in the Julian calendar.
THE Hijra was a seminal event in Islam ,because but for it,there would have been no Islam,similar to the fact that ,but for the resurrection of Christ,there would have been No Christianity.
In light of the above -Alhaji AZEEZ ADEDUNTAN felicitates with all Islamic adherents for witnessing this day.
