Sunday June 5, 2023

The last batch of Oyo pilgrims have arrived the holy lands.

The pilgrims numbering 466 took off from Murtala Muhammed Airport at 11:20 pm on Saturday night and arrived Madinah airport at 9am local time (7am Nigeria time).

The pilgrims immediately went into supplications for the state and the country upon landing in Madinah.

They are expected to visit the holy sites in Madinah, including Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque and tomb, before proceeding to Mecca for the completion of the Hajj rites.

While in Mecca, the pilgrims are also expected to walk round the Kaabah and ascend Mount Arafat.

The last batch of the pilgrims from the state was accompanied by two Royal fathers – the Okere of Saki Oba Khalid Olabisi and the Olokaka of Okaka Oba Ayoola Olatunji Ogelende IV.

Also performing the pilgrimage with Oyo pilgrims are the Chief Executive Officer of an Ibadan based private radio station Agidigbo FM Mr Oriyomi Hamzat, a former Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board Professor Kamal Koyejo Oloso and the present Chairman of the Board, Professor Sayed Malik.
