This was at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration in Osogbo with the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership.” In his keynote, Engr. Agoro explained that youth empowerment must be seen as a strategic investment in Osun’s future. He called for the establishment of technology and innovation hubs, a Youth Development Fund, and stronger youth–industry partnerships. Engr. Agoro expressed deep gratitude for the honor and pledged to further champion youth causes in the state: “This investiture is not just a personal recognition; it is a call to greater service. I dedicate this honor to the vibrant young people of Osun State, whose resilience and creativity continue to inspire us all. “As Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, I will work closely with government, industry, and development partners to open more doors of opportunity for our youth. Together, we will ensure that the dreams of Osun youth translate into tangible achievements that uplift our state and our nation.” In his goodwill message, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, Commissioner for Youth Affairs, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth-focused policies, praising their resilience and innovation. Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha, urged young people to blend innovation with discipline, while upholding cultural values as the bedrock of sustainable progress. Captains of industry at the event pledged stronger support for youth-led ventures through mentorship, funding, and partnerships. The celebration concluded with optimism and renewed commitment, as stakeholders affirmed that Osun youth are not just beneficiaries of development but active leaders and partners in building a prosperous future for the state and Nigeria at large. The high-profile event was graced by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí (Arowotawaya II), the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha Kingdom, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Osun State, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, other distinguished royal fathers, top government officials, and captains of industry.

Forum, NUJ, Others Felicitates Renown Philanthropist, Akande Over OON Award

Some notable professional groups have congratulated renowned philanthropist and financial expert, Dr Oludare Akande, on his conferment with the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON)

This is contained in their separate statements made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Akande, the Chairman, American Polytechnic of Nigeria (APN) and Bellagio Airlines, was honoured with the OON award by the Federal
Government on May 27.

The forum of Nigeria Chief Executive Officers(CEOs) Under 50, congratulated Akande on his well- deserved honour from the Federal Government of Nigeria

The forum in a statement signed by its Press Secretary, Prof. John Abe, expressed delight that Akande’s hard work and dedication had been acknowledged at the highest level.

“His contributions to the development of Education and Aviation in Nigeria have been outstanding, and his entrepreneurial spirit has been an inspiration to many young entrepreneurs in the country,” it said.

It said that Akande’s achievements would continue to inspire young Nigerians to pursue excellence, expressing confidence that he would continue to make significant contributions to national growth and development.

The forum said that it was proud of Akande, wishing him continued success in all his future endeavours.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oyo State Council, congratulated one of its Patron, Dr Oludare Akande on the national honour conferred on him by the Federal Government, describing it as well-deserved.

The NUJ in a statement jointly signed its Chairman, Ademola Babalola and Secretary, Olusola Oladapo, described the honour as well-deserved.

It said that Akande’s contributions to national development and humanity distinguished him for the well-deserved honour.

The union commended Akande’s services to humanity, saying he has also contributed immensely to education and aviation sectors.

The NUJ urged Akande to continuously support the less privilege in the society and contribute more to national growth.

“We extend our warmest congratulations to our Patron, Dr. Oludare Akande on his recent conferment of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) award,” it said.

Also, the Nigerian Young Professionals (NYP), Oyo State Chapter, described Akande’s honour as well-deserved in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of the country.

This is contained in a statement signed by NYP President, Dr Ahmad Ojo, said Akande’s dedication to excellence, hard work and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of Nigerians has not gone unnoticed.

“We extend our warmest congratulations to you on your conferment of the National Merit Award of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“This is a well-deserved recognition of your outstanding contributions to the development of our great nation.

“Your dedication to excellence, hard work, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of Nigerians has not gone unnoticed.

It said that the group was proud of Akande’s achievements and impact made in his field of expertise.

The group said that as a young professional, Akande’s accomplishments inspired them to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s development.

“Once again, congratulations on this well-deserved honor. We wish you continued success in all your future endeavors,” it said.
