Eid-el-Kabir: Oyo Christian Community Congratulates Muslims

The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State, has congratulated muslims on the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir.

In a letter addressed to the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Akinola Makanjuola, the Chairman, CAN, Oyo State, Rev Elisha OgundiyaOn behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, and the entire Christian community said “I bring you warm greetings and felicitations on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.”

“This sacred festival reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, faith, and love for one another, as exemplified in the life of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) It is a time for reflection, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the values that unite us as children of one God and citizens of one nation.

“As we celebrate, I urge us all to continue to foster the spirit of mutual respect, understanding, and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in Oyo State.

“Our shared desire for peace, security, and development calls us to rise above division and work together for the common good of our state and country.

“Let’s use this season to pray for Divine intervention on the issue of insecurity around us especially for the release of students and teachers that were recently abducted at Oriire local government of Oyo State and others across the country.

“May Almighty God accept your sacrifices, grant your prayers, and bless your homes with peace, joy, and prosperity. May He also grant our leaders wisdom to steer Nigeria towards unity and progress.

“Once again, I wish you and your families a peaceful and blessed Ileya celebration.
