..urges government to consider 250k as new minimum wage

An elder statesman and Ibadan based businessman, Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem, popularly called Sukazeem, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent inauguration of an extensive conditional cash transfer program, targeting an immense 15 million households across the nation.

The elderstateman called on the federal government to review what each eligible household is slated to receive, which is N75,000, but increase it to between 100k and 150k.

According to FG, the programme is within a three-month timeframe as part of this program, which was formally unveiled on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

He said the increase will help Nigerians to face the challenges of increased commodities needed by ordinary Nigerians.

Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem also called on the President to, as a matter of urgency, review the current mimimum wage by workes and review it and do the needful.

He explained that the 70k wage can no longer be sufficient, especially with a continued increase in fuel price across the country.

He then urged legislature to expedite their passage to strengthen fiscal stability and economic revitalization.

Alhaji Kazeem said the tax reform will close revenue gaps, foster a business-friendly environment, and boost Nigeria’s economic recovery efforts.

He commended President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which has been pivotal in repositioning Nigeria to be a prime global investment destination.

He applaud the administration’s proposed tax reforms aimed at streamlining tax processes, closing revenue gaps, and fostering a business-friendly environment.

Alhaji Kazeem further said President Tinubu’s leadership has been exemplary in promoting unity and bridging ethnic and regional divides. His administration reflects a genuine commitment to fostering a united Nigeria, where every citizen feels seen, heard, and represented.

He said the approach is critical to maintaining peace and stability in the diverse nation.

He also pointed out the trillions of profit that had so far been generated by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Ltd in recent years. He said it should reflect in the lives and living wage of Nigerians.

Sukazeem stated that owing to the continuous increase in fuel price , it is important for the government to also let it reflect in the salary of the workers.

Alhaji Kazeem urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu in his drive of leading Nigerians through this difficult time.
