“Omodewu Was A Fighter For Democracy’, Osi Basorun Adeduntan Mourns Oyo APC Chairman

The Osi Basorun of Ibadanland,PRINCE(Dr) Azeez Popoola Adeduntan on Monday expressed lamentation over the death of the Oyo State Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.

A statement issued through his media office in Ibadan and made available to journalists said “Omodewu’s passage was as painful as it was benumbing, considering his impactful imprints in growing the APC not only at the state level, but also in the national scene.

“I grief for this sudden passage of my friend and brother ;who few years ago served together with me ;in the State Executive Council under late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

“His contributions to not just to APC but above all, party politics and democracy in Nigeria, can not be quantified.

“I recall with nostalgic feelings how he, with other members of the then Exco served the people of Oyo State diligently and with passion.

“It’s quite sad that he left us at a time he was most needed for consolidation and progressive inroads; but who are we to query God.

Adeduntan also recalled the role played by late Omodewu in his return to the progressive fold few months ago.

“I’m short of what to say and in deep mourning right now, I can only pray for his soul to be accepted by his creator and his immediate family the fortitude to bear this sad occurrence.”
“We will miss him”
