Late Olubadan Lived A Life Of Service And Exemplary Royalty, POJ Mourns Fallen Olubadan
The Mogaji Ojo Eweena, Oke Offa, Baba Sale, Mogaji (Engr) Popoola Olukayode Joshua popularly called POJ on Friday joined the people of Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria to mourn the passage of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun.
Mogaji Popoola in a release on Friday morning through his media office in Ibadan and made available to journalists described departure of the first class monarch as great loss not only to Ibadanland but Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
He explained that late Olubadan during his well fulfilled life time displayed high level of commitment and personal sacrifice to ensure the growth of Ibadanland and Oyo State.
Mogaji Popoola who was the also the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) during the 2023 Governorship election in Oyo State described his relationship with late Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun as that of father and son and will forever cherish it because of great lesson he had learnt through the wise counsel of the late monarch.
According to Mogaji Popoola, who is also a member of Ibadan North East Traditional Council, the late Olubadan will be remembered for his impactful contribution to Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria.
“Kaabiyesi lived well especially his distinct commitment to Ibadan and exemplary royalty life which should be emulated as we mourn the passage of our great monarch.
“On behalf of my immediate family, members of Ojo Eweena, Oke Offa, Baba Sale family compound, associates and entire supporters across Oyo State, I sympathies with Kaabiyesi immediate family, extended families, the Olubadan Advisory Council, Chiefs and entire sons and daughters of Ibadanland as well as residents on this passage. I pray May God Condoles everyone and give all fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Mogaji Popoola called on the entire Indigenes of Ibadan to at this time unite and give Baba a befitting honour as he journeyed home.
The 42nd Olubadan was 82.
