LG Poll: PDP Welcomes Defectors From APC In Ibarapa Central

In a significant political development, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibarapa Central Local Government of Oyo State has received hundreds of defectors from the All Progressives Congress(APC).

The defectors in two different groups were received on Wednesday by PDP leaders in the council area including it’s chairmanship candidate, Mr Sola Adeleke.

The defectors led by two prominent APC members, Mrs. Mariam Okeleye and Mr. Muraina Tajudeen, had hinged their defection on their desire for good leadership as well as commitment to the needs of the public.

Okeleye, who led the first group,
expressed their disillusionment with the APC, stating, “Enough is enough of their lies every day.”

She affirmed their allegiance to the PDP, pledging their support for Adeleke in the upcoming elections while emphasising their long-term commitment to the party.

The other group led by Tajudeen, popularly knowns as Apapin, expressed confidence in the PDP leadership, hoping for greater results in the future.

The defection of these two groups has been met with joy and enthusiasm by existing party members, who welcomed them with open arms.

This development underscored the growing support for the PDP in Ibarapa and Oyo state, signaling a shift in political dynamics as the region prepare for the upcoming local government elections.

As the PDP continues to attract new members and consolidate its base, the party looks towards a future of unity, progress, and success for the benefit of all residents in the council.
