Oyo NUJ Mourns BUNMI 0yewole of BCOS

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Mrs. Bunmi Oyewole, wife of the former Head of News and Current Affairs of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS)

The Council described her passing as shocking and heartbreaking, noting that the news of her demise came as a rude shock to journalists and media practitioners across Oyo State. The Union said her death has left a vacuum in the lives of her family, friends, and all who came in contact with her.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Akeem Abas, and the Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the NUJ said it received the sad news with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss, considering her invaluable contributions to journalism through a distinguished career in journalism.

The Council noted that Mrs. Oyewole was a virtuous woman, a devoted wife, and a caring mother whose kindness, humility, and commitment to family values earned her the admiration and respect of many within and outside the media community.

While praying for the peaceful repose of her soul, the Union urged the BCOS and Oyewole family to take solace in the worthy life she lived and the positive impact she made on those around her. The Council acknowledged that though her death is painful, her cherished memories will continue to remain in the hearts of loved ones.

The NUJ, Oyo State Council, therefore extends its heartfelt condolences to the husband, the entire Oyewole family, colleagues at BCOS, and all those affected by this painful loss. The Council prays that Almighty God grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and gives the departed eternal rest.
