Ogun Guber Aspirant, Amusan Attends 2026 Ojude Oba Festival

Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan, the Sobaloju of Egba Land and Otunba Asoludero of Ilese-Ijebu Land, was among the prominent dignitaries who graced the 2026 edition of the renowned Ojude Oba Festival, held in Ijebu Ode.

The colourful annual cultural celebration, widely recognized as one of the biggest and most prestigious traditional festivals in Nigeria, attracted thousands of indigenes, tourists, cultural enthusiasts, and distinguished personalities from within and outside the country.

Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan’s presence added glamour and prestige to the grand occasion as he joined other respected sons and daughters of the land in celebrating the rich cultural heritage and unthe Ijebu people.

Speaking during an interview at the event, Hon. Amusan emphasized the immense economic value and social impact of the Ojude Oba Festival, describing it as a major contributor to the economic growth and tourism development of Ogun State.

According to him, the festival annually attracts close to 10,000 visitors from different parts of Nigeria and across the globe, thereby creating enormous business and investment opportunities for residents and entrepreneurs.

He explained that the influx of visitors during the festival period significantly boosts the patronage of hotels, eateries, filling stations, transport operators, fashion designers, event planners, artisans, traders and several other small and medium-scale businesses.

He further noted that even local craftsmen and bricklayers benefit economically due to increased construction, renovation, and preparation activities associated with the celebration.

Hon. Amusan also stated that beyond its entertainment and cultural value, Ojude Oba serves as a strong platform for promoting unity, cultural preservation, tourism, and economic advancement. He commended the organizers and traditional institution for sustaining the festival over the years and transforming it into a globally recognized cultural event that continues to project the image of Ogun State positively to the international community.

Being a proud son and Sobaloju of Egba Land with strong maternal roots in Ijebu Land as the Otunba Ogidi Omo of Ilese Ijebu Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan described the festival as a personal and cultural symbol of unity, heritage, and togetherness among the people of Ogun State.

The 2027 Ogunreaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote culture, youth engagement, economic empowerment, and community development across the state.
