State of Emergency: Again, Sukazeem Blasts Rivers State Elders
..stop disrespecting Nigeria President – Sukazeem to Atiku
..describes elders’ Selfish interest as cause for crisis in the state
An Ibadan based businessman and elderstateman, Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem, popularly called Sukazeem, has again descended on elders of Rivers State for their selfish attitudes in the ongoing political crisis in the state.
Alhaji Kazeem, in a release on Friday through his media office, blamed elders in Rivers State especially, PANFEF for the protracted violence in the state, accusing them of placing selfish political interests above the states well being.
Sukazeem said with the situation of things in Rivers State, it looks as if there is no elders anymore in the state as some of them now choose to play a very bad advocate in the crisis rocking the state.
Alhaji Kazeem said the elders should bury their heads in shame amidst avoidable crisis rocking the state.
He said one would have expected the leaders alled to bury their differences and join forces to tackle the problems facing the state.
The one time close associate of winner of June 12 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola believed that the problem rocking the state which had resulted in sporadic violence in different parts and a general feeling of insecurity among the people, would have been resolved if these leaders buried their differences.
“There’s a common enemy, and we it looks as if the elders are now seeing to be the enemy of the people.
“Those bent on destroying Rivers State are capitalising on the selfish attitudes and pecuniary motives among the leaders and elders to pursue their agenda,” he stated.
He stated that the unexpected silence of the elders and the unnecessary involvement of some outdated politicians parading themselves as opposition leaders is making things more worse.
He said: “To some of us watching, its like the likes of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, El-Rufai and others are planning to bring back the military government and take the government away from President Tinubu.”
Alhaji Kazeem then cautioned former Nigeria Vice President Atiku Abubakar to desist from passing insult on President Tinubu. He explained that the President is the head of the country and also an important symbol of Nigeria.
Kazeem while reacting to a recent statement by Atiku that President Tinubu should return back to Nigeria, said Atiku is an ordinary Nigerian like all others and as such should only advised the President and not to command him.
The elderstateman said just like the views expressed by one of Atiku party leaders, Chief Bode George and PDP governors, Atiku should not see himself as someone too important than others but an ordinary Nigeria with no special privileges.
He said the former Vice President should wake up from his sleep and knows that he’s no longer the Vice President and that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the current Nigeria President as at now, hence he should behave like a responsible and reasonable Nigerian.
He said the political stand-off between Rivers Assembly and Governor Siminalayi Fubara could have continued and degenerated into violence if not for the quick intervention of President Tinubu.
Kazeem welcomed the steps taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying Tinubu waiting for the breakdown of law and order in Rivers state to escalate into anarchy before acting is like withholding firefighters until a house burns to ashes.
He described the suspended Rivers State Governor as an ingrate, political neophyte who ought to have shown gratitude to his benefactor and the one who has upgraded him to the peak of his unexpected political explosion.
“We all know that Wike brought Fubara from level 12 as a civil servant in the state to level 17 to made him Accountant General of Rivers State and eventually made him a governor. Where are Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and El-Rufai in all these?
Kazeem then urged Fubara to retrace his steps back to his mentor before it was too late and should not be pushed around by expired political oppositions.
