President Tinubu’s Administration Nears Completion of $2.8 Billion AKK Gas Pipeline at 86 Percent Progress, Set for Delivery by November

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced that the $2.8 billion Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline project is now 86.05 percent complete. The mechanical delivery of the project is scheduled for November 2025.

This critical infrastructure, accelerated under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, is designed to deliver up to 2.2 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day. It will power industries, improve electricity generation, and boost economic growth across key northern cities including Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano.

NNPC Ltd confirmed that major construction works such as welding, equipment installation, and system testing are nearing completion. The project, covering a 614km route, also aligns with Nigeria’s Decade of Gas strategy and is expected to create thousands of jobs while expanding domestic gas utilization.

The AKK pipeline stands as a flagship achievement reflecting President Tinubu’s commitment to energy security and national development.
