POJ Condoles Ibadan Stampede Victims, Prays For Prosperity In The State
Mogaji Ojo Eweena, Oke Offa, Baba Sale, Ibadan, Engr Popoola Olukayode Joseph popularly called POJ by many of his followers has extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and those who sustained injury during a stampede at Islamic Grammar School, Bashorun, Ibadan.
During the a programme organised by an NGO last week a stampede was witnessed which left over thirty children dead and many injured.
Popoola, a 2023 governorship candidate in Oyo state in a condolence message, described the incident as a tragedy and a devastating blow not only to the affected families but Ibadanland, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.
While extending his condolences to the families of the victims, Mogaji Popoola prayed that God grant them the comfort they need to bear their loss.
“It is with profound shock and sadness that I, Popoola Olukayode Joseph, mourn the tragic loss of lives of our children, our future and others as well as those injured at the Bashorun, Ibadan, food-sharing event last week.
“This shocking and unexpected tragedy, that can possibly would had been averted which claimed the lives of over thurty people is a sad and devastating blow to our state and Nigeria.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased and injured.
“May God grant them the strength and comfort they need during this difficult time.
“Let us come together as a people to pray for the souls of the departed, for the healing of the injured, and the consolation of all those affected by this tragedy.
“May we find solace in the words and consolation of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
