This was at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration in Osogbo with the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership.” In his keynote, Engr. Agoro explained that youth empowerment must be seen as a strategic investment in Osun’s future. He called for the establishment of technology and innovation hubs, a Youth Development Fund, and stronger youth–industry partnerships. Engr. Agoro expressed deep gratitude for the honor and pledged to further champion youth causes in the state: “This investiture is not just a personal recognition; it is a call to greater service. I dedicate this honor to the vibrant young people of Osun State, whose resilience and creativity continue to inspire us all. “As Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, I will work closely with government, industry, and development partners to open more doors of opportunity for our youth. Together, we will ensure that the dreams of Osun youth translate into tangible achievements that uplift our state and our nation.” In his goodwill message, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, Commissioner for Youth Affairs, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth-focused policies, praising their resilience and innovation. Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha, urged young people to blend innovation with discipline, while upholding cultural values as the bedrock of sustainable progress. Captains of industry at the event pledged stronger support for youth-led ventures through mentorship, funding, and partnerships. The celebration concluded with optimism and renewed commitment, as stakeholders affirmed that Osun youth are not just beneficiaries of development but active leaders and partners in building a prosperous future for the state and Nigeria at large. The high-profile event was graced by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí (Arowotawaya II), the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha Kingdom, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Osun State, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, other distinguished royal fathers, top government officials, and captains of industry.

Oyo Govt Converts 551 Workers to New Cadres

The Oyo State Government has approved the conversion of 551 serving officers into various desires sub-officer and officers cadres in the Civil/public service of the State.

The Chairman, Oyo State Civil Service Commission Alhaji. Chief Kamoru Abiodun Aderibigbe made the disclosure on Saturday in Ibadan.

He explained that the Government settled for the 551 officers, saying the selection was rigorous and competitive.

“I believe this recruitment and conversion exercises are game-changers for the Oyo State civil service,” he said, adding that the conversion was to strengthen the service and ensure better output by workers.

He said the conversion exercise, which was approved amidst the ongoing recruitment exercise, into the mainstream of the Civil Service, confirmed the love Governor Seyi Makinde has for workers who had obtained relevant additional academic and professional qualifications.

Recall that the State Government just concluded Computer Based Test (CBT), for about Fifteen Thousand applicants, jostling for new appointments into about Sixty-six different cadres, in the State civil and public services .

The Chairman, who at the conclusion of the exercise expressed his happiness for the success recorded, also praised His Excellency, for giving approval for the recruitment exercise and fresh conversion exercise for Five Hundred and fifty one Officers.

He described the gesture as an indication that the Governor is always putting the masses first in his decision making.

The Chairman noted that the health sector is the major beneficiary in the conversion exercise with EIGHTY FIVE Nursing Superintendents becoming Nursing Officers as well as other cadres in the health sector, whilst some Medical Officers too would soon be converted to Medical Consultants at relevant fields of their specialization.

Alh. Aderibigbe admonished workers in the State to appreciate the good gesture of the Governor, by performing their duties diligently, effectively and efficiently, to reciprocate the kind gesture of the Governor.

He congratulated Oyo State Civil/Public Servants on the ongoing Civil/Public Service Week wishing them more years of progress
