Osi Balogun Baale Agbe Decries Alleged Herdsmen Attacks on Farming Communities

The Balogun Baale Agbe of Oyo State, Mogaji (Prof) Gbolagade Abiodun has decried the recent alleged herdsmen attacks on farming communities in Ogunmakin the Oluyole local governmentOyo State which has led to injury and loss of farmlands produce.

Mogaji Abiodun made this call on Tuesday in a statement through his media office in Ibadan.

He expressed shick and dissapointment over this ugly sutuation which according to the people has been on months now without solution, having made several attempts to call the relevant government agencies and the state government to assist them.

“As the Osi Balogun Baale Agbe of Oyo State, seeing this happening under my nose is an embarrassment and I must made efforts with all those concerned to tackle such immediately.

“Now that we have a serving minister for livestock and working ministry of livestock, i dont think such should continue to happen.

“Let me therefore call on the hon minister of livestock development, Idi Muktahir Maiha and my derail brother from Oyo state who is the Senior Special Assistant to the President on livestock, Hon Idris Ajimobi further urged to immediately help in addressing this and help to curtail the movement of cattle in the country as a way of checkmating criminals who disguise as herdsmen to perpetrate evil.”

Osi Baaale Agbe also asked security agencies to urgently ensure perpetrators of this economic sabotage are brought to book.

He also requested the security agencies to tackle, as a matter of urgency, the increasingly criminal activities of some suspected herdsmen who had taken over the farmlands in the state.

Gbolagade Abiodun, who also doubles as the Asiwaju Adini of Oluyole local government, appeals to the state governor , Engr Seyi Makinde, to come to the aid of the people and ensure their safety through deployment of state security agents.

He then appealed to the community to maintain peace while more effective strategies were being devised by the federal and the Oyo State Governments to deal with the heinous activities of herdsmen on their land.
