Easter: Trust In God Sovereignty Amid Difficulties, Oyo CAN Chairman Urges Christians

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Elisha Olukayode Ogundiya has called on Christians in the state to trust God notwithstanding whatever they are going through.

Rev Ogundiya stated this in his Easter message made available to journalists in Ibadan.

“May I urge you to remain resilient in faith, fostering unity, demonstrating love to neighbours, and focusing on the mission of sharing the gospel.

“Need for integrity and continued spiritual growth by both the church and the secular leaders in our society. Doing this includes trust in God, ecouragement to trust in the Lord with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, particularly during difficult times.

“Unity and Love: A call for believers to love one another, forgive, and maintain peace, ensuring that love for others is also a priority.

“Mission-Focused: Encouragement to be faithful witnesses to Christ in the world, actively spreading the message of the gospel of the resurrection.

“Resilience and Prayer: A reminder to stay rooted in prayer, maintain hope, and persevere in ministry or personal struggles. Even as a nation and citizens as we are getting ready for another election session to choose our leaders.

“Active Faith: A challenge to ‘live the better way’ through actions, such as showing kindness, gentleness, and humility rather than just speaking about faith.”

The CAN chairman added that the message is designed to uplift those who are “stretched thin” and need a reminder of God’s presence and purpose in such a time as this.

“God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.

“May your heart dwell on this word as you prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection today!” he prayed.
