Ogun TNT Charge FG To Improve Nation’s Security Architecture
.. Urges Ogun government to be alert over recent public disturbance by herdsmen

The leadership of the Tinubu Tink Tank, TNT, Ogun State has charged the federal government on the need to improve the security architecture of the country and block all leaking holes within its security architecture.

These were the submissions of some members of the executive during its second executive meeting.

According to the group Chief-Whip, Hon Olajumoke Akindele, it’s important for the federal government to review its strategy and adopt those that align with the current reality of insecurity in the country.

He urged foreign nations to work with the country through diplomacy, intelligence-sharing, and development partnerships, adding that third force in the security agencies should be shown the way out.

“We affirm that Nigeria’s security challenges, though grave, are surmountable, and we remain confident that with sustained reforms, responsible leadership, and strong citizen cooperation, our nation will rise out of this crisis stronger than ever.

Akindele said those behind terrorism and insurgency — and their sponsors — are intentionally attacking certain communities in certain regions, not because the crisis is religious, but because they aim to manipulate emotions, fuel sectarian suspicion, and fracture national unity.

Akindele also called on the Ogun State Government to be alert and be security conscious especially with the assault perpetrated during the outgoing week by some recalcitrant herdsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital where, free flow of traffic were seriously obstructed.

He added that things like this are pointing to the fact that there is danger in waiting and all those found wanting in the ac must be found and brought to book so as to serve as deterent to others who may want to go the same route.

Also, another member of the executive, Hon Olamilekan Lamidi, expressed shock to the event of the last few weeks, especially the gruesome killing of a Brigadier General in Borno, describing as sad and unaccepted

He called for vigilance and holistic review of the military activities in various theatre commands of the Nigeria military so as to be able to purge out the fifth columnist in the military.

The acting coordinator TNT, Ogun State, Lekan Shobo Shobowale said that while the group acknowledged the progress made so far by the federal government on confronting insecurity “we also challenge the Nigerian government to intensify efforts in: identifying, pursuing, and apprehending the masterminds of insecurity — including financiers, informants, collaborators, and foreign enablers.

“Conducting thorough investigations into the economic, political, and external interests benefiting from the prolonged insecurity. Strengthening community-based intelligence systems, empowering traditional institutions, and improving local policing frameworks.”

Shobowale also urged federal government to accelerate judicial processes so that terrorists and bandits do not return to society through loopholes or weak prosecution.

“Nigeria must demonstrate that no individual, group, or external actor is too powerful to face justice,” the group said.
