This was at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration in Osogbo with the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership.” In his keynote, Engr. Agoro explained that youth empowerment must be seen as a strategic investment in Osun’s future. He called for the establishment of technology and innovation hubs, a Youth Development Fund, and stronger youth–industry partnerships. Engr. Agoro expressed deep gratitude for the honor and pledged to further champion youth causes in the state: “This investiture is not just a personal recognition; it is a call to greater service. I dedicate this honor to the vibrant young people of Osun State, whose resilience and creativity continue to inspire us all. “As Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, I will work closely with government, industry, and development partners to open more doors of opportunity for our youth. Together, we will ensure that the dreams of Osun youth translate into tangible achievements that uplift our state and our nation.” In his goodwill message, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, Commissioner for Youth Affairs, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth-focused policies, praising their resilience and innovation. Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha, urged young people to blend innovation with discipline, while upholding cultural values as the bedrock of sustainable progress. Captains of industry at the event pledged stronger support for youth-led ventures through mentorship, funding, and partnerships. The celebration concluded with optimism and renewed commitment, as stakeholders affirmed that Osun youth are not just beneficiaries of development but active leaders and partners in building a prosperous future for the state and Nigeria at large. The high-profile event was graced by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí (Arowotawaya II), the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha Kingdom, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Osun State, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, other distinguished royal fathers, top government officials, and captains of industry.

The day has drawn to a close, and the die is cast; we mourn with deep sorrow the loss of our dear Monarch. The news of the passing of our highly esteemed, longest-serving monarch and patriarch of the Adetona Dynasty, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona GCON, Ogbagba II, Awujale, and the Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, has come as a profound shock to us. However, we give thanks to God for a life lived in reverence to Him, in service to humanity, and for the benefit of the people of Ijebuland.

‎His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona GCON, was held in high esteem and revered throughout his life. He led a profoundly impactful life, serving both his people and his Creator. His commitment to lofty, humane, and equitable ideals will forever stand as a testament to a life fully lived in accordance with the will of God.
‎
‎We celebrate the life and legacy of our esteemed monarch, whose contributions to the development of Ijebuland and beyond will be eternally remembered.
‎
‎His unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people and his steadfast commitment to the traditions and customs of Ijebuland are qualities that will be deeply missed.
‎
‎As we mourn his passing, we take solace in the memories of his life and the impact he had on the Ijebu community.
‎
‎We pray that the Almighty will grant us the strength to uphold his legacy and continue his good work.
‎
‎Death, as we understand, is the inevitable fate of all mortals. As painful as it may be, we encourage the good people of Ijebuland to find comfort in the knowledge that God, in His sovereignty, knows best in the affairs of humanity.
‎
‎On behalf of all members of our esteemed Association (ANBROAD), we extend our deepest condolences to the Adetona Family, and the entire people of Ijebuland on the passing of His Majesty, who was a symbol of tradition and culture throughout his life.

‎May God grant the faithful departed eternal rest and cause His perpetual light to shine upon him in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Please accept our heartfelt condolences as we pray to God to grant the Adetona Family, and the entire noble people of Ijebuland the fortitude to bear this irreparable and irreplaceable loss.
