NGO Donates Cash for Widows

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Widows/Widowers Connect has donated cash to some widows in Ibadan.

Speaking at the event held at *Church of the Transfiguration Agodi/Ikolaba* , Diocese of Ibadan, the Coordinator Widows/Widowers Connect, Evangelist Dr. Florence Remi Ojengbede said the gesture was to assist the widows and show them care.

Evangelist Ojengbede stressed that the gesture was also to give back to society and put smiles on the faces of these special and often marginalised individuals.

She lamented that in the society, the rich don’t remember the widows community, instead they focus on assisting themselves only, stressing that she embarked on this path because of her desire to give and share with the widows.

Ojendegbe added that since the inception of the organisation few years ago, it has reached out to communities in and across the country where she and other supporting partners have imparted the lives of many widows and less privileged.

She acknowledged the contribution of 2 Ark Foundation Inc., John Henry Bearden and Gloria Yemisi Bearden, Chairman and Director respectfully for their continuous support.

In her remarks, the President, Women Organisation, Ibadan Anglican Diocese, Mrs Comfort Akinfenwa thanked Evangelist Dr. Ojengbede for the initiative aimed at blessing humanity through the widows and their family.

She expressed her joy to be part of an initiative that is giving back to humanity, describing the initiative as the heart of God, even as she commended the Widows/Widowers Connect for its continued efforts at touching lives.
