HAJJ 2024 : First Batch of Oyo Intending Pilgrims to Depart For Saudi Arabia May 18th — Sheikh Atere*

…as board begin vaccinations, distribution of Hajj uniform

The Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muslim Wing, has announced May 18th as the date in which the first batch of the intending Pilgrims from Oyo state will depart for Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj activities .

The Board Chairman, Sheikh Hashim Atere, announced this during the weekend while addressing the intending Pilgrims who converged on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) Central Mosque, Ibadan for vaccination and collection of Hajj uniform.

Sheikh Atere hinted that all the intending Pilgrims from the state have been granted visas , adding that the second batch will be airlifted on May 19th , 2024.

Sheikh Atere noted that Governor Seyi Makinde have been supportive towards the success of all the programmes and activities of the board.

He described the governor as a leader who does not discriminate against any religion and urged the intending Pilgrims to pray to Allah to continue to guide the governor and lead him to the right path .

The board chairman also admonished the intending Pilgrims to abide by the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and that of the Hajj activities.

He hinted that the usual farewell for the intending Pilgrims from the state is expected to hold next week, saying the board will intimate concerned individuals with the date and other necessary information in due course.

” We announced to our intending Pilgrims that all visas have been granted , Oyo state has been given dates to depart for Saudi Arabia, 18th and 19th May”

” We have two batches, by Sunday, May 19th, all the intending Pilgrims from Oyo state might have landed in Saudi Arabia. The yearly farewell done by the Executive Governor of the state will hold next week, we shall communicate the date once the governor has agreed to a date ”He added .

Meanwhile, vaccination of the intending Pilgrims and distribution of Hajj uniforms continue on Monday, 13th May, 2024 at the same venue, starting from 8:00am.
