Ex-Osun SSG Moshood Adeoti Moves To Succeed Adeleke in 2030, Joins Accord Party

Former Secretary to the Osun State Government and frontline politician, Moshood Adeoti, has declared his support for the second-term ambition of Governor Ademola Adeleke and officially aligned with the Accord Party together with thousands of his supporters across Osun State.

Adeoti’s declaration comes two months after he stepped back from active politics following the fallout within the Omoluabi/ADC political bloc.

His latest move signals a major return to the political scene with a new platform and renewed direction.

The announcement was made at a large town hall meeting in Osogbo attended by Adeoti’s political structure and grassroots coordinators from across the state.

The gathering featured representatives from every polling unit and all 332 wards in Osun State, demonstrating the wide network and organized base behind the decision.

Addressing the meeting, Adeoti stressed that the endorsement followed extensive consultations with his followers and stakeholders statewide.

He explained that the collective decision to support Governor Adeleke was driven by what he described as the visible transformation and developmental progress recorded in Osun over the past three years.

He noted that the current leadership in the state remains closely connected to the people, emphasizing that those in government are home-based and live among the citizens they serve.

According to him, this has improved responsiveness and strengthened public trust in governance.

Reaffirming his long-standing principle, Adeoti stressed his commitment to grassroots leadership and local development, declaring his belief in “Osun for Osun.”

During the meeting, Hon. Kehinde Morenikeji moved a formal motion for Adeoti and his supporters to join the Accord Party, while the motion was seconded by Kehinde Ogaala and unanimously adopted by all in attendance.

Hon. Muniru Raji, Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Political Matters, in his remarks, attested to the grassroots strength and political sagacity of Moshood Adeoti, who he described as a dependable and trusted leader with deep grassroots acceptance across Osun State, while urging supporters to remain united and committed, noting that Adeoti remains “a trustworthy leader worthy of followership.”

The occasion was also attended by leaders from Moshood Adeoti’s support group, highlighting the significance of the political realignment.

The endorsement and party declaration marked a notable development in Osun State’s political landscape ahead of the next Osun Guber Election.
