Osun State Police Command Begins Enforcement Of Third-Party Vehicle Insurance Policy

The Osun State Police Command has begun enforcing the Third-Party Vehicle Insurance Policy, as directed by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM. This move aims to ensure all vehicle owners in Osun State comply with the provisions of Section 68 of the Insurance Act and Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Motor Vehicle (Third-Party Insurance) Act.

Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Umar Abba, psc, emphasized the Command’s commitment to protecting road users from motor accident risks. Vehicle owners are urged to secure valid insurance, as non-compliance will result in sanctions.

The enforcement team consists of personnel from the Osun State Police Command, OSun State Transport Management System (O.S.T.M.S) and Osun State Internal Revenue Service. Vehicle owners should verify their insurance certificates’ authenticity and validity.
