President Tinubu’s Policies, Reforms Will Yield Positive Results For Nigerians, Says Gov Aiyedatiwa

– As APC holds South-West Assembly in Lagos, gears up for Ondo guber poll

“As we continue in developing our individual selves and our individual states, having the entire southwest region in mind, let us also rally support for our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to succeed at the centre.”

Those were the words of Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as he delivered his remarks at the South West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos on Saturday.

Governors, former governors, federal lawmakers, State and national officers of the party from Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos converged at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos to deliberate on national and regional issues.

Governor Aiyedatiwa urged leaders of the ruling party across the region to mobilise more support for the various policies and reforms of the President aimed at revamping the economy of the Nation.

The Governor expressed confidence in the President’s Renewed Hope agenda, adding that with the ongoing reforms, the country is on the path to greatness.

Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the need to promote agriculture, noting that food security is one of the major challenges facing the country.

In his address to the gathering, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stressed the crucial role of unity and togetherness in driving the nation’s overall development.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the President reassured Nigerians that brighter days are ahead, stating that a time will come when everyone will share in the nation’s collective progress.

He emphasized that his focus is not on the next election but on ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.

Earlier in his welcome address, the National Vice Chairman of the APC (South West), Hon. Isaac Kekemeke, stated that the event aimed to assess the welfare of party members and develop strategies to strengthen the party in the region.

Kekemeke urged party members to start focusing on the 2027 presidential election and the coming November 16 Ondo State gubernatorial election, calling for early mobilization of supporters in preparation for these crucial contests.

In his remarks, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who also served as the event’s coordinator, urged party members to collaborate not only as a political group but as citizens of the country.

He explained that the purpose of the assembly was to exchange ideas and stressed that the South West is the heartbeat of Nigeria, with unity being essential for progress.

Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, the National Secretary of the APC, emphasized that meetings shouldn’t only take place during election periods, but should instead focus on nation-building and the party’s growth.

Former Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, in his speech, called on party leaders at both the national and state levels to collaborate and create opportunities to listen more closely to grassroots supporters.

He also appealed to the South West governors to utilize their forum effectively in managing their respective states.
