Osi Basorun of Ibadanland Mourns As Olubadan Of Ibadan Joins Ancestors At 82

The Osi Basorun of Ibadanland, Prince Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has described the Thursday night death of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun, as shocking and unexpected at this time.

Adeduntan in a release through his media office on Friday morning expressed shock on the death of the Monarch who recently celebrated his 82nd birthday.

He described the late Olubadan as a brother and leader who he enjoyed great cordial relationship with ,while he was alive.

The International Cardio Vascular Surgeon prayed for the repose of Olubadan’s Soul and to Almighty ALLAH (SWT),to grant the entire Ibadan fortitude to bear the unexpected loss.

The 42nd Olubadan was 82.

Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde announced this in a statement on Thursday night.

He was barely two – years on the throne, having been formally installed and given staff of office by Governor Makinde in March, 2022.

The Governor said the ,monarch passed away at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
