This was at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration in Osogbo with the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership.” In his keynote, Engr. Agoro explained that youth empowerment must be seen as a strategic investment in Osun’s future. He called for the establishment of technology and innovation hubs, a Youth Development Fund, and stronger youth–industry partnerships. Engr. Agoro expressed deep gratitude for the honor and pledged to further champion youth causes in the state: “This investiture is not just a personal recognition; it is a call to greater service. I dedicate this honor to the vibrant young people of Osun State, whose resilience and creativity continue to inspire us all. “As Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, I will work closely with government, industry, and development partners to open more doors of opportunity for our youth. Together, we will ensure that the dreams of Osun youth translate into tangible achievements that uplift our state and our nation.” In his goodwill message, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, Commissioner for Youth Affairs, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth-focused policies, praising their resilience and innovation. Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha, urged young people to blend innovation with discipline, while upholding cultural values as the bedrock of sustainable progress. Captains of industry at the event pledged stronger support for youth-led ventures through mentorship, funding, and partnerships. The celebration concluded with optimism and renewed commitment, as stakeholders affirmed that Osun youth are not just beneficiaries of development but active leaders and partners in building a prosperous future for the state and Nigeria at large. The high-profile event was graced by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Àjàyí (Arowotawaya II), the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesha Kingdom, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Osun State, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, other distinguished royal fathers, top government officials, and captains of industry.

Oyo LG Election: It’s Our Turn To Produce LG Chairman ― Tapa Community

As Local Government election in Oyo State is getting closer, the people of Tapa in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State led by Oba Sunday Oyekanmi Abioye 1and member of his Elempe-In-Council have appealed to the state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to consider the people of Tapa, as it is their turn to produce the chairman of the local government area.

They made the appeal at a stakeholders meeting held at the palace of the Elempe of Tapa on Tuesday.

In a communiqué issued shortly after the meeting, the stakeholders said: “We are appealing to our amiable and loving governor to put into consideration the need for Tapa to also produce the Ibarapa North local government chairman especially for the peaceful coexistence among the good people of the area.

“It is also important to note that we had consulted widely within the local government and among major stakeholders to ascertain the community that is supposed to produce the chairman in the next local government election in the state.

We are saying it without mincing words that it is the turn of Tapa to produce the Chairman and we are sure that every peace loving residents of the local government will also attest to this fact.

We also believe that this will a peaceful and resounding victory at the polls for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which is the ruling party in the state. ”

The stakeholders also commended the state governor for his love for Ibarapaland which made him to return our son, who is now the number three citizen of the state, Rt. Hon Adebo Ogundoyin.

“We want to re-assure His Excellency that we are solidly behind him and will continue to support him and his administration.

Those present at the were community leaders, PDP stalwarts in the community and youths which included, Hon. Mrs. Funmilayo Orisadeyi, Former Commissioner and former honourable member Oyo state house of assembly, Hon. Tunde Adegbenjo – Former Honourable member OYHA, Chief E. O. Olaotan – Overall PDP leader, Alhaji Bilau Dare Kongo, Mr. Gbile Olaniyan, Pa. Salau Popoola and Mr. Suleiman Oguntoye
