You Are a Political Struggler — Former Rivers Commissioner Says

A former Rivers State Commissioner, Leloonu Nwibubasa, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of losing political relevance and seeking scapegoats to stay afloat. Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Nwibubasa said Wike has continued to fuel political tension in Rivers State rather than allowing the current administration to focus on governance.

According to him, the former governor has consistently attacked his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, while also blaming external forces that, he argued, have no real influence on Rivers politics. Nwibubasa questioned why Wike, after leaving office years ago, still dominates political discourse in the state, claiming the situation reflects a politician struggling to retain control.

He further advised the FCT Minister to reconsider his approach, noting that it is contradictory to aggressively play party politics in Rivers while not being firmly rooted in any political party.

The remarks add to growing public debate over power tussles and political influence in Rivers State ahead of future elections.
