Easter: “Jesus Did Not Die Because He Was Guilty, He Died For Our Mistakes – Cleric

The Pastor in Charge, Government House Chapel, Oyo State, Pastor Layi Adisa
says Jesus did not die because He was guilty; He died for mankind, and for their mistakes.

Pastor Adisa stated this in his Easter message made available to journalists in Ibadan on Monday.

“Our brokenness, and our need for grace. He chose the cross, fully aware of the pain it would bring, because His love for us was that real, that personal. He saw our worst and still gave His best.

“His sacrifice is not something to remember only once a year. It is a daily reminder of how deeply we are loved and how we are called to live in response, with kindness, with compassion, and with a faith that stretches beyond comfort and convenience.

“On the third day, He rose again, and that is what we celebrate today. He came out of the grave clothed in glory, signifying a new life and the restoration of hope. His resurrection brings comfort for our pain, the promise of restoration for lost glory, the turning of our captivity, and a better life beyond momentary suffering.

“Today, as we commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is our heartfelt prayer that the Lord will turn the captivity of our nation, restore our lost hope, and usher in a new season of peace and progress in Jesus’ Name. Amen”, he concluded.
