Rivers Sole Administrator Meets President Tinubu At Aso Villa
Newly appointed sole administrator of Rivers State Rear Admiral Ekwe Ibok Etteh Ibas has arrived Aso Rock Presidential Villa Abuja for a meeting with president Tinubu.
The former Naval Chief was appointed yesterday by the president who declared emergency rule in Rivers State on Tuesday.
President Tinubu had in a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday, declared the emergency, citing political tension and troubling security reports in the state.
Tinubu stated that recent security briefings revealed troubling acts of oil pipeline vandalism by militants, with no effort from the governor to address the situation.
Reacting to the development, Basiru maintained that the emergency would help restore peace and order in the troubled oil-producing state.
