The Oyo State Chairman, Yoruba Youth Council (YYC) Otunba Olukayode Adebayo has described the step recently taken by the leadership of the Yoruba Youth Council led by Eric Oluwole as a result of corruption in the Yoruba leadership.
Otunba Adebayo said this in an exclusive interview with Nigeria Alert News reporter Dorcas Ajuwon.
The Oyo State chairman of YYC explained that council was established to see to the concern of yoruba youth both internally and externally as well as to cater for the needs of all the youths of Yoruba extraction.
“Yoruba Youth Council is a conglomerate of so many Yoruba groups which includes Odudua Youth Assembly, National Association Of Yoruba Student,Yoruba Council Of Youth Initiative and many more who were pulled together to form a formidable group which later gave birth to Yoruba Youth Council (YYC).
According to Otunba Adebayo “the council not withstanding the recently change of name by a group of leaders led by Eric Oluwole and its group is still in existence and will not bought over by any individual or group of people.”
According to him,The culture of Yoruba land is Omoluabi but some people has diversed from the culture because they don’t Know the value and they also decided to follow the dubious path of some of our leaders.”
“There are bad eggs that decided to form another forum they call themselves Yoruba Afenifere Youth Association Of Nigeria.”
Otunba Olukayode assured that Yoruba Youth Council will soon be rejuvenated and be more active.
