Leadership and Members of Independent Petroleum Marketers may Not Complied With the Federal Government Tuesday directive of a new petroleum price of N123 per litre.
The Chairman, Independent Marketers Branch Of NUPENG, Apata Branch Alhaji Taofeek Lawal disclosed that some members of the branch may not necessarily go with the directives because they are still selling with the limit of the stipulated pump price as directed by Federal Government.
He explained that N125 Per Litre is the highest price they can sell while N123 per litre is the lowest price they can sell and they are still keeping faith within the guided price by the Federal Government hence no crime has been committed by his members.
Alhaji Lawal added that even though the marketers are not ready to antagonize the federal government, normal procedures must also be followed before decisions like this can accepted.
Also, an Independent Marketer and Chairman, Bodlas Petroleum Moniya, Mr Olubode Awosunle disclosed that the sudden reduction by the federal government is seriously affecting their profit margin.
He said the government is not given any form of coastal allocation to independent Marketers just like the case with Major marketers hence the reason the recent reduction may not be effectively implemented.
