The Chairperson, Motorcycle Transport Union Association of Nigeria (MTUN) Oyo State Comrade Yetunde Alabi has disclosed that she left one of the leading big companies in Nigeria to assumed the Chairman of MTUN in the state.

Comrade Alabi who made this disclosure while speaking with Nigeria Alert News said she witness an accident and saw how a victim was attended to the man was attended to in Ibadan made her felt that there is no good welfare package for Okada riders in the state.

“Ibadan is not treating them well so that really motivated me to go back to Abuja to do my research where I discover that there has not been a union in Oyo state not to talk of a woman leading any Okada Union.

Comrade Alabi said MTUN is a union while others are association, and is the only union in Nigeria which is different from other associations with different names.

Speaking on how the union is generating funds, Comrade Alabi said “we generate funds for the state government through ticket to our members which takes care of our union and the state.”

She said, before now there has been conflicts among members of the union and others associations but they are united and one big family.

The Chairperson described Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde as a blessing to Oyo state especially the way he handled the pre and post COVID 19 period.

She advised members of the union to cooperate with the state government and it’s agencies and not to be involved in any criminal activities.
