Nigeria soccer fans have expressed their disappointment after the three-time the Nigeria Super Eagle only managed a point against the Leone Stars in Freetown.

Some fans this morning on social media expressed their disappointment with the Super Eagles’ 0-0 draw against Sierra Leone on Tuesday.

Gernot Rohr’s men managed to share the points with the Leone Stars in Freetown in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Freetown.

The draw is their second in two games after they were held 4-4 by John Keister’s men in the first outing of their meeting in Benin City.

Although the result was still enough to ensure the three-time African champions maintain their lead in Group L, it has, however, failed to confirm their qualification for the Afcon finals.

Luis Suarez

Uruguay footballer Luis Suarez has tested positive for COVID-19, the national team announced on Monday, and will miss Tuesday’s World Cup Qualifiers against Brazil.

In a statement, the Uruguayan national football team said that along with Suarez, stand-in goalie Rodrigo Munoz and another staff member had also tested positive for the coronavirus infection.

“Tests have been carried out on all the members of the national team, with the result that the players Luis Suarez (and) Rodrigo Munoz and the official, Matias Faral, have tested positive for Covid-19,” the statement read.

The Atletico Madrid forward is in good health, as is Munoz and Faral, the statement read. The team said it is following protocol and taking the necessary measures following the positive results.
