The National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinunbu and immediate past governor of Osun state and current minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola were conspicuously absent at the funeral service for late commissioner for education in the old Oyo State and a former member of the Senate Late Chief Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa.
The church service held at the Christ Anglican Church Erin Ijesa, Osun state saw dignitaries which includes the Osun state deputy governor Gboyega Alabi, Former Osun state governor and former National chairman All Progressive Congress Chief Bisi Akande, former Osun deputy governor Iyiola Omisore, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, Former Secretary to the Government of the federation, Chief Olu Falae, Speaker, Osun state house of assembly Timothy Owoeye, the chairman Odua group Engr Sola Akinwunmi, leader of Afenifere Pa Ayo Adebanjo and the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
In his sermon at the church which was full to capacity, the Lord Bishop Of Ilesha Diocese Rt Rev Samuel Olubayo called on pokiticians to live a life of truth and uprighteness as taught by Jesus Christ.
He attributed many difficulties and challenges confronting Nigeria as man made due to many evils and sins of both the leaders and the followers adding that Senator Akinfenwa spent his life in serving his God and humanity.
In his tribute,the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde who spoke through his deputy chief of staff Abdul Mojeed Mogbonjubola described the late senator as one of the few Yoruba leaders that were known for truth in his life time.
Governor Makinde explained that his death has robbed him and the entire Yoruba race of a patriotic leader.
Chief Ayo Adebanjo described the death of Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa as a personal loss to him because of their closeness and believes in same ideology of selfless service to mankind.
Others who spoke at the service which includes Special Adviser to Oyo State governor on political matters Hon Babs Oduyoye, Engr Sola Akinwunmi, Amb Yemi Farounbi, Hon Babatunde Tijani, Mr Joshua Olatayo a.k.a Adigun Ibadan all spoke glowingly of the late Senator.
Late Chief Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa was later interred beside his late wife at the church premises.
