3 armed robbers set ablaze in failed bank robbery in Oyo - Daily ...

It was a bad outing for three (3) armed bandits that were arrested by residents of Okeho in Kajola local government when their 18-seater bus they had used to robbed at a bank had an accident and somersaulted and were thereafter set ablaze by the angry mob when they attempted to escape the scene of the accident.

The dare devil armed bandits at about 4:58 pm on Wednesday 29th July, 2020 came into the town with white 18-seater bus with the aim to invade a First generation bank Okeho with an intent to rob.

According to reports, the armed robbers gained entrance into the bank and used dynamites and AK-47 riffles shots to blow the bank security door.

But due to the commendable effort of the men of the Nigerian police force and the town local vigilantes, three of the robbers were arrested after an accident in their 18-seater bus but they were not so lucky as they were set ablaze by the angry mob.

The Commissioner of Police Enwenu Nwachukwu after getting the wind of the dastardly acts, directed that all the Police Tactical teams including the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Mobile Police Force (PMF 72) and Police personnel from Okeho Area Command and nearby Divisions should be on the trail of other members of the fleeing robbers who escaped in different directions.

The Commissioner of Police has condemn the dastardly act while assuring the good citizens of Oyo State of the Police preparedness to protect lives and properties before, during and after the Sallah celebrations.

He urged the good people of Oyo State to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation or threat from any quarters as the Police is on top of the situation, while he solicits credible information from members of the public to enable us clamp down on crimes and criminalities in Oyo State.
