Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bashir Bello has disclosed that there is no confirmed case of Corona Virus (COVID-19) in Oyo State
He made it known this morning during a press briefing where he revealed that the Ministry Of Health has activated a surveillance system and contact tracing in nooks and crannies of the State to ensure a disease-free state despite the rise of COVID-19 in the country.
He assured that there is an ongoing contact tracing of the infected person in Ekiti State who stayed in Ibadan for some time and the area of residence of the victim is already under surveillance.
Dr. Bashir Bello implored the public to remain calm and ensure strict adherence to preventive and good hygiene practices by –
•covering the nose and mouth with tissue paper when sneezing and coughing,
•washing of hands regularly with soaps under running water,
•usage of alcohol based sanitizers,
•and the practice of social distancing in public gatherings.
He urged anyone coming into Oyo State from any high risked country or area to notify the Ministry Of Health on arrival for a supervised self-isolation for atleast 14 days before moving around.
