The 2019 ,All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo state, Chief Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has advised leaders of the All Progressive Congress to shun Godfatherism and imposition as 2023 draws closer.
He gave this advice while receiving members of the state APC reconciliation committee in his Alakia office led by Prince Gbade Lana.
Chief Dr. Adeduntan who is also the Osi Bashorun Of Ibadan Land asserted that “politics should not be do or die thing that would warrant engagements of of thugs and hooligans in achieving political ambitions.Politics should be a Vocation,not a job.”
The world revered cardio vascular surgeon turned politician said the party in the state needs restructuring that will ensure only the best aspirants emerge as the party’s candidates at all levels adding that members should be allowed to elect candidates of their choice as 2023 general elections draw nearer.
The founder Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan Foundation added that the party needs a God fearing leader who can move the party forward in Oyo State.
Earlier, the leader of the team, Prince Gbade Lana said APC in Oyo State needs people like Chief Dr. Adeduntan who are of international standard and can also lead the party to a path of honour.
He stated that the committee is saddled with the task of uniting all aggrieved party members and find a lasting solution to issues and difficulties confronting the party so that it can position itself well for future elections.
