Oyo State Government Re-opens Religious Centres In Ibadan
…sunday services held at some churches, others not opened

It has been over two months that the Oyo State government under the administration of Engineer Seyi Makinde, placed a ban on worship at religious centres. The ban was a step from Oyo state COVID-19 task force chaired by Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The task force recently declared that there’ll be a relief on ban of religious centres starting from 21st of June, 2020 with safety precautions mandated to be observed like using of nose mask, no gathering of unit/ department leaders, service not exceeding two hours among others.
The services being the first Sunday service were glorious in some churches visited by Nigerianalert reporter.
At the Full Life Evangelical Mission led by Pastor Adelani Oloyede, preventive measures were observed which includes handwashing, sanitizer at all the entrances of the church.
In an interview with the Pastor Adelani Oloyede, he gave thanks to God for the gift of life and also acknowledged the effort and concerns of the Oyo State government towards combating the pandemic, as he expressed his joy seeing all his members hale and hearty.
“I pray to God Almighty to enrich our governor in wisdom, knowledge and understanding. The ban lifting is a sign of hope, that the pandemic is already gone out of the country because children of God will always send a word of prayer to combat it. Above all, glory to God for the gift of life.”
Also at some churches, worshippers were seen jubilating and thanking God for sparing their lives throughout the lockdown with dance and rendition of melodious songs onto the most high.
It would be racalled that Oyo state government lifted ban As the Oyo State government last week lifted ban on religious with preventive measures in place.
While speaking with some senior pastor of various churches, the Shepherd in charge of Celestial church of Christ,ilesanmi parish1 Pastor Bogunmbe and the General Oversear of CAC Vosagos Miracle cathedral Ile Iyanu Pastor jide oladiipo commended the effort of the government to keep lives and properties save in the state.
According to pastor Oladiipo, the service was awesome as there is always a great Joy in the presence of God.
However, some churches were not opened for services.
Commercial vehicles also made improved income with high numbers of passengers rushing to church which hasn’t been so for a long time.
