As Muslims across the world begin Ramadan fasting today-Tuesday, April 13th 2021-Oyo State Governorship hopeful ,who is also the Osi Bashorun of Ibadanland, Chief Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has urged Muslim faithfuls in Oyo state in particular and Nigerian in general to use the fasting period to pray for peace and unity to reign in the country.
The international cardiovascular surgeon surgeon and President Adeduntan Cardiovascular and DIagnostic Centre(ACDC) Ibadan,in a message to greet Muslim faithfuls on the commencement of the 30-day fasting period in a statement made available to journalists, described the fasting period as a period of sober reflection which gives the Muslims opportunity to move closer to Almighty Allah and seek His face in supplication and prayers.
“It is a period of sober reflection, a period we move closer to Almighty Allah in supplication and prayers and a period prayers are answered by Almighty Allah.
It is not only for Muslims alone who should make positive use of this spiritual period ,but also Nigerians in general irrespective of their religious belief,” Adeduntan said.
The founder, Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan Foundation (DAPAF) In Nigeria and the USA ,stated that with the present state of the nation, there is a need for all to seize the opportunity of Ramadan to pray for unity and peace to reign in the country.
He stated further that one major feature of the period is sharing of love -adding that there is a need for Muslims to share love not only among themselves but also among adherents of other religions which will engender brotherliness among all.
“Islam means peace, thus this is the period Muslims can display the peaceful nature of the religion to people especially adherents of other religions.”

He also prayed to almighty Allah (SWT) ,that we all should reap the positive reward of its essence in our lifetime and the hereafter,” he concluded.
