The Chairman, Governing Council, Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan (OYSCHST), Dr Aaron Ola Ogundiwin recently convened an emergency Council meeting to investigate the allegations dated July 30, 2021, levelled against the management, by the 300L Dental Surgery Technician students.

While the Council and the Management were not served with the letter of allegations, nor informed about the alleged matter and only got to know about it via social media platforms on August 1, 2021, however due to the gravity and seriousness of the allegations, the Council held a meeting to investigate the matter and found the allegations to be spurious, baseless and false.

The statement according to the College Public Relations Officer, Sola Samuel Ojewole stated that during investigation and interrogation, the Council discovered that the students forged the letterhead on which their petitions were written and also falsified their matriculation numbers, an act which is tantamount to a criminal offence and gross misconduct, in accordance with the College’s code of conduct for students.

The Governing Council equally observed that the allegation about the N45,000 Board Exam fee which was alleged by the students as contained in the unsubstantiated petition was a malicious falsehood and the handiwork of detractors.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Aaron Ola Ogundiwin said the College Governing Council and the Management appreciate the good works and the support given to the College by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and would not allow anybody to tarnish the image of the present administration under any pretence .

Dr Ogundiwin explained that the College Management would not condone any act of indiscipline by the students promising that all erring students would be appropriately sanctioned by the Management to serve as deterrent to others in the future.

Speaking on the development the out going President of the Students Union Government (SUG), Comrade Ifeoluwa Olawumi and the President of the Department of Oral Health Science Students’ Association who were present during the investigations and interrogation sessions confirmed that all the allegations levelled against the College Authority in the petition were untrue, baseless and a falsehood which are meant to mislead the members of the public and distrupt the academic activities of the Institution.

They warned their fellow students against spreading fake news on social media and urged members of the public to disregard the false allegations the students posted on social media platforms about Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele Ibadan.
